A big shout out to Parallel 49 for providing us with space, and receiving and caring for all of the entries. They took good care of all of our beers, and kept them cool in their walk-in.</p>
<p>Our title sponsor, Russell Brewing for making the best Canadian homebrewing prize available, the Golden Stag. For those of you that don't know, the winner will get a commercial release of their recipe, a brew day at Russell, and you also receive a cash prize!</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Vancouver Homebrewers Associations is excited to announce the 2013 VanBrewer Awards competition. We will be accepting entries in BJCP categories 1 - 23 for an entry fee of $6.00 (Cheque or paypal only). Registration will open on Wednesday March 20th 2013 at <a href="http://vanbrewerawards.ca/">vanbrewerawards.ca</a> and will close on April 20th 2013. Entries can be shipped or dropped off at Parallel 49 Brewing Co. 1946 Triumph St, Vancouver, BC V5L 1K5 between April 6th and 20th, during tasting room hours 11am - 7pm daily.</p>
<p>Entries will be judged at Parallel 49 as well. Volunteers will be needed for the bottle sort on Sunday April 21st starting at 12:00.  Judges and stewards are needed for 6 shifts:</p>

<li>Friday, April 26th, 9:30-12:30</li>

<p>We are going to be starting a new format for 2013 meetings with the first half consisting of presentations on a given topic. This month, its all about competitions.</p>
<p>Matt Anderson will kick things off with a presentation on what you need to know about entering your beer into a homebrew competition.</p>
<p>Following Matt's presentation will be Danny Seeton who will present on what a beer competition is like from a Judge's perspective.</p>
<p>David O'Halloran will also have his new stir plate idea on display made from locally sourced components.</p>
<p>As always members of the public interested in home brewing are welcome to attend and learn more about our club.</p>
<p>Please remember to bring a taster glass with you to the meeting. Plastic cups will be available for $1 each.</p>

It will be held at Parallel 49's new warehouse located at 1993 Pandora Street, Vancouver. Enter through the back alley. A sign will be posted.</p>
<p>Once the AGM is wrapped up, we will have our annual winterfest and fundraiser. This will be from 2 to 6pm. Suggested donation of $10 to attend. Any members that bring a keg or enough bottles to share with everyone will be given a raffle ticket and prizes will be awarded. <p>Entries are to be submitted by January 13, so enter what ever you have on hand. Have a beer waiting to get bottled sitting in a carboy? Get on it and get it submitted! Judging will take place on Monday January 14th with the winner having their beer brewed by Howe Sound Brewing. This beer is to be put on tap for the first time at the Alibi Room's 400th tap rotation! Accommodation and hospitality will be provided by Howe Sound Brewing for the weekend it is to be brewed.</p>
