We will be holding general elections for the club at the AGM on February 1. The positions available are President, Treasurer, Secretary, and four board member positions. On average elected members spend 10-20 hours a month performing club duties, sometimes a little more during events like the VanBrewer Awards, AGM, and Summer party.

VanBrewers will be holding their Annual General Meeting on February 1, 2014. Parallel 49 Brewing has graciously offered a (heated!) space for us again this year in their lab.
Beginning at noon we will be renewing and signing up new members for this member-only business meeting. The meeting will begin at 1pm and should run no later than 2:30. Standard AGM stuff to be covered includes elections, club business and anything else the membership sees fit. If you would like to run for an elected position or have a topic to bring up, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know! Advance warning will allow the executive to prepare and hopefully have the answers you're looking for!
After the AGM will be our winter reception. Much like the summer event this is a get together like no other! Those who bring a full batch (20L keg, approx 25 bombers, etc..) will be permitted free entry. If you want to attend but have nothing to offer, the entry fee is $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Food arrangements to be decided, but worst case scenario there will be a food truck at the front of the tasting room.
With the meeting being so close to the end of January, we will forego the monthly meeting. The February meeting will be held, in the usual space on Commercial, on February 27.

In lieu of Halloween, we have moved the reqular club meeting up a week to the 24th, same spooky time, same spooky place. Please remember to bring a tasting glass and some homebrew to share.
